The FreeBandy Goal:

The idea of FreeBandy is that you should be able to play almost anywhere you like. In other words the goal can be made of anything – in a spontaneous level of games the players decide that themselves. But in official competing situations there is a specially developed FreeBandy goal. So that future “FreeBandy-Champions” could train under equal conditions for future “Challenges”, this goal will also be available for purchase as from fall 2008. The goal has three holes in the diameters of 15, 40 and 25 cms, counting from the top. The goal is standing vertically erect with the smallest hole on the top. The points at scoring shots counts for 3 points in the smallest top hole (the hardest), 1 point in the largest middle hole and 2 points in the bottom medium sized hole.

For you who can’t wait – build it yourself!
The goal that is used today during shows is an advanced creation, designed by one of Sweden’s leading companies of industrial design. Serial manufacturing is already scheduled and the goal, which is also named the official Challenge goal, will be available for purchase in selected well-assorted sport stores as from late fall in 2008 and in the Zii webshop, www.zii.se.If you are the restless type and want to start practising right this instant, you could actually build a similar goal yourself with quite simple methods. The important thing is to get the exact diameters of the holes and the approximate height of the goal right.

All you need is a suitable piece of chipboard, plywood, or anything corresponding, a saw, and a hint of passion for carpentry (or you could just hire mom/dad right away…).

FreeBandy balls:
Up until now we have been using balls developed for floorball when we’ve played and exhibited FreeBandy around Sweden and the world. But product development is happening in this area too, which will lead up to balls that are fit for different gaming environments. Since FreeBandy played in a spontaneous level is mostly played outdoors, it could be appropriate with a slightly heavier ball, especially when making those long passes and shots, air drops and what not. Keep your eyes open for upcoming news in the sport stores and at www.zii.se in the ball area!
